Day 1 – Choosing a destination
The world is a very big and very cool place. There are currently 196 countries and approximately 7.1 billion people living on earth. For this project we are going to focus on just 10 countries across 6 continents – Canada (North America), Mexico (Central America), Chile (South America), England (Europe), Germany (Europe), South Africa (Africa), United Arab Emirates (Middle East), Japan (Asia), Malaysia (South-East Asia), and Australia (Australasia).
Please click on the ‘World Map’ tab on the main menu. It will bring you to a big map. One by one click on the names of the countries and ready the ‘Quick Facts’ about each place.
Activity 1
Q.After you have read the quick facts about each place you must choose ONE country that you would like to ‘visit.’ On your blog post the name of the country and tell us why you have chosen to visit it. Please give, at least, two reasons for choosing the country.

Kia ora Samiuela,
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Summer Learning Journey! It's fantastic to have you blogging with us over the summer holidays :-)
My name is Dan, and I'm working alongside Rachel and Mark over the summer. I'm lucky enough to be able to read your blogs and I'll be leaving comments as I go. If you want to reply to my comments then please do! I'd love to know what you think, or if you have any questions, feel free to ask away.
I think Mexico would be such a fun country to visit. Did you know that they celebrate Christmas in Mexico from December 12 - January 6? If you were travelling there at this time of year you could see all kinds of festivals and eat lots of yummy food.
Who's your favourite WWE wrestler? It would be pretty cool if you got to meet him on your travels. I was super impressed by your facts that you found out. I never knew that their official name was the United Mexican States?
I see that they like to play soccer there too, which I think is awesome. I love playing soccer with my friends, do you play any sports as well Samiuela?
Mexico has such a beautiful, vibrant culture, so I am looking forward to following your Summer Learning Journey over the next few weeks. I think this will be a lot of fun learning all about such an exciting place!
Excellent start Samiuela, make sure you keep blogging! I'm looking forward to seeing Day 2's activities. Or maybe you could try the Bonus Activity and write a letter to one of your friends or family?
Adios,
Dan.
Q. For the bonus Activity can I do them all in one ?
DeleteAlso thank you for the comment
Good question Samiuela. The answer is absolutely! If you want to do the bonus activities, you can include them all in the same blog.
DeleteKeep up the awesome blogging!
Dan.
